Because naturists don't think of sex when they undress, because
naturists don't think of sex when they are engaged in wholesome family
activities. Because naturists don't grab a towel for cover, after
taking a shower in fear of having others view them in a 'sex obsessed'
manner? Who are the perverts then?
Introducing Friends
To Naturism
As nudists the single best thing we can
do for our lifestyle is to share our experiences with others.
Trips to Nude resorts are much more enjoyable if we can get
friends to go with us. I have been a Nude for ten years and I don't
hesitate to share my experiences with others. Some people can't stand
the thoughts of having other people know they are involved in nudism,
but telling others about our lifestyle is the only way we can get more
people involved. I have never had one bad experience. Many nudists
worry about what other people will think. It is possible that some
people will have negative thoughts about you being a nudist. I don't
live my life trying to please everybody. Of course that is up to you.
Many people have told me it was cool when they learned that I am a
nudist. I have had people burst out laughing and I have been teased a
lot. You have to be prepared for that because it will probably happen
to most anybody. For me it has always been good natured. I just accept
that as part of being a nudist. If we all let the fear of a little
teasing stand in the way of telling others about our lifestyle we will
not have any chance to grow. A lot of people have told me there is no
way they would take their clothes off.
Probably the best time to bring up the subject of nudism is when
your friends are talking about what they are planning to do for the
weekend or for summer. You can invite them to a clothing optional
resort. You can tell them that they will not be required to undress
unless they get in the hot tubs or swimming pool. You need to be
prepared to answer questions. It is best to have some Nude
literature for them to read, maybe some information from the club you
normally visit. Encourage your friends to give nudism a try, but don't
pressure them. Tell them about all the wonderful expreiences that you
have had as a nudist. Tell them how comfortable and relaxing it is to
be nude. Tell them that they only live one time. Tell them that they
will meet a lot of nice people. You need to make it clear that nudism
has nothing to with sex or looking at nude bodies. You need to tell
them that they will be protected against gawkers and troublemakers. It
is important that women know this. Tell them that if anybody says or
does anything to make them feel uncomfortable to report the person to
the management and they will deal with it.
Being a Nude is nothing to be embarrassed about, so why not tell
your friends. It does take a little nerve but it is not bad at all. Of
course it is all up to you. If you have any questions, email me at the
link above.
Short Reading About Nude Culture
Being a Christian, I naturally had been taught the body shame and disgrace of being nude, especially in front of others. But for some reason, while I was about 12-13 years old, I was on a farm and found out that running in the pastures and woods was fun naked. Over the years, I would find places alone to be nude. But something was just not right. First, I was alone in my feelings and couldn't talk to anyone about it, and two, my religious teachings still gave me a guilty feeling.
When my wife and I were in our 4th-5th (in my late 30's) year of marriage, I started to look into naturism a lot more seriously, but my wife was against the idea. Not that she was against being nude with each other since we did that a lot around the house anyway, but was afraid of the social idea. She thought I was going to some sex crazed wierdo bunch. And of course she doubted that there were any more than a couple of real nudists in the whole state anyway. So that would make me stand out even more.
I found a magazine called Nude and Natural Issue 16.1 I believe. It was the issue that published the "205 Arguments and Observations of Naturism". I took that home and read it through. Then a few days later I showed it to my wife. We discussed it, prayed about it, studied it and decided to give it a try. She wanted to talk to our pastor about it at first, but I told her that we can't always depend on what they say on this. I already know what they will say, "No". So our beliefs are in vain. Either it is between us and God or it's not. So we decided to keep it between us two and we've been at it now for about four years. Keep in mind, we are not just sneaking around our church to do something "sneaky and underhanded", but doing this on our own because of our beliefs. Later we hope to tell our pastor and church. There is a couple we may tell fairly soon.

The depiction of adults and children nude in the visual media has enjoyed constitutional protection in the United States since 1958, when the Supreme Court vacated a Court of Appeals finding that Sunshine & Health magazine could be obscene (Sunshine Book Co. v. Summerfield, Postmaster General, 355 U.S. 372). The right to depict adults and children in innocent nude poses has been upheld without a pause for 41 years. In case after case, the Supreme Court and lower courts have always upheld the constitutionality of "nudity without more," specifically referring to the Nude depiction as a fully constitutional form of expression. Our picture and video galleries are widely promoted in all of United States, Canada, Asia, Europe, South America, Canada, Australia and Africa amond most major countries. The only exception may be countries where nudity of any kind is banned, i.e. Iraq, Syria, and Iran. |
